A Classic Wedding Ceremony For Mercy and Isaac
On January 12, 2020, the Villa Siena was lucky enough to take part in a very special event: the wedding of Mercy and Isaac. This wedding was classic, traditional, and totally sweet, and we were so happy to help this beautiful couple have the special day of their dreams!
The wedding was decorated with a variety of white florals, including roses, dahlias, lilies, and baby’s breath. We decorated our outdoor courtyard (the Piazza Toscana) with these lovely floral arrangements, as well as a white aisle runner for our wedding party to walk down. But this wedding wasn’t an all-white affair; the bridesmaids wore powder blue gowns for a pop of color, and Isaac and his groomsmen wore classic black tuxes.
When the ceremony began, Mercy made her grand entrance in her gorgeous wedding gown. In her ball gown — complete with an illusion neckline and lace- and sequin-covered sleeves — she looked like a real fairy-tale princess!
The ceremony was conducted in Spanish (with an English translator for some guests). The officiant talked about God’s intention for marriage and encouraged the couple to share brief vows they’d written themselves. Then, the couple exchanged rings and sealed their union with a kiss (yay!). As the ceremony ended, Mercy removed her veil and pinned it onto Isaac’s shoulder, as a sign that she would rest on his strength in their life together.
After the ceremony ended, it was time to head inside for an evening of dinner and dancing. The reception started with Mercy and Isaac’s first dance (to James Ingram’s rendition of “So This is Love”) and their respective dances with their parents. Then, while the couple’s loved ones gave heartfelt speeches, guests enjoyed a meal of caesar salad, Napa valley salad, Tuscan chicken, creamy pesto pasta, creamy mushroom asparagus, and gorgonzola chicken.
Throughout the evening, Mercy, Isaac, and their guests chatted, laughed, and let loose on the dance floor. There was even a live performance, as two guests regaled everyone with their singing and guitar playing! It was clear that this group loved the couple dearly, and that Mercy and Isaac would have lots of support in their marriage.
