Signs were a big part of the celebration when Mikaela and Kasey married November 21, 2015. Signs included Pop, fizz, clink with white letters on a glittery, gold background and sign encouraging guests to write in their guest book, as well as a sign saying Love, laughter and happily ever after.
For the wedding, the bride wore a strapless gown with beaded embellishments throughout, a mermaid flair and train. Her hair was worn in an up-do with a flower fascinator. The bridal bouquet was filled with fall colors and sunflowers, burnt reds and oranges and a few white roses. For her bridesmaids’ dresses she chose black knee-length dresses with black lace bodices over ivory satin. The groom wore a black tuxedo with silver vest and tie and white shirt.
As the processional began the flower girl tossed fall leaves down the aisle instead of flower petals. Mikaela was walked down the aisle by both her mother and her father. The couple’s dog was a very important part of the ceremony and was dressed with a rose wreath around the dog’s neck. The couple’s love of animals was evident through the sign Live, Love, Bark and the couple’s choice to have guests bring donations for an animal shelter.
Tables at the reception were covered with gold rose tablecloths and gold up-lighting warmed the reception hall. The couple’s names shone on the walls. Centerpieces included pumpkins and burnt orange roses, sunflowers and wheat grasses. In front of the head table, which was covered with a glittering gold tablecloth, were the letters M & K lit up with small yellow lights.
The couple’s first dance was to Gravity by Big and Rich followed by When the Night Comes Along for the father and daughter dance and Humble & Kind for the mother & son song.
The wedding cake was four tiers, each uniquely decorated. The top tier was smooth fondant with a hammered gold ribbon, the second tier was a covered with a large gold sparkle, the third tier was finished with gold ribbon and the bottom tier had a white rose pattern. Fresh roses decorated the cake. Along with cake, mini pies in fall flavors and pie pops were served. Camouflage cozies were favors.
Congratulations Mikaela and Kasey. May you have the Happily Ever After every child dreams of. We wish you the best.
