Two great families came together as one April 10th, 2015 when Nadia and Kyran were married, according to the parents of the bride.

For her wedding, Nadia wore a gown from Demetrios by Cosmobella with lace flower embellishments and a mermaid flair at the bottom. Satin piping finished her veil. The bridesmaids wore different colors and styles of dresses while the groomsmen were in black tuxedos with black bowties. Kyran was dressed in a white dinner jacket with black lapels and a black bowtie. To bring her to her groom, Nadia was walked down the aisle by both her mother and father.

The wedding followed a traditional Persian Ceremony. The first part of the ceremony was the Aghd, or the legal process of getting married. This was followed by the Jashn-e-Aroosi, or reception. The ceremony took place in front of a Sofreh Aghd, or a spread of food laid out on a table containing symbolic items. The Sofreh is made of embroidered fabrics or silk and should contain a mirror and candelabras, the Holy Book, colored seeds to ward off evil spirits, nuts and eggs for fertility, gold coins for future wealth, pastries for a sweet life, bread for prosperity, fruit for the divine creation of man, rose water to perfume the air and honey to sweeten the couple’s lives. During the ceremony a piece of silk is held over the couple’s heads by female relatives. The couple also lit a unity candle.

During speeches the best man shared how he met the groom at work five years ago and how the groom often talked about how in love he is with the bride. The maid of honor welcomed Ryan to the family and paid tribute to how much she loves her sister.

The wedding cake was a five-tier cake with ruffled fondant on the first tier, gold on the second and fourth tiers, fondant roses on the third tier and striped piping on the bottom tier. The cake was orange flavored. Male and female sheep cake toppers finished the cake. For those wanting a few more sweets there was a dessert table set up with cookies and pastries. Favors were succulents in miniature pots.

Congratulations Nadia and Kyran. May your lives be filled with light and love. We wish you the best.
