Nancy and Wade first met in 1992. The couple’s fever for their individual football teams clearly bonds them together. The bride favors the Arizona Cardinals and the groom the Kansas City Chiefs. The couple’s wedding ceremony took place at a Cardinals vs. Kansas City tailgate. Their reception was no less enthusiastic when it came to supporting their favorite team in their own unique ways. The wedding celebration boasted a strong football theme, but beyond that both the bride and groom incorporated team logos and colors into their wedding outfits. Nancy donned a wedding gown with a homemade red Cardinals shawl to wear over the dress. Her wedding gown featured an A-line skirt with red crystal detailing. A tiara and veil with scalloped edging and red and clear crystals integrated the red and white color scheme. Nancy’s bouquet, which combined red and white roses and yellow carnations and was tied with flowing ribbon. Wade incorporated his love for the Kansas City Chiefs through a red vest and bowtie with the team logo on it. His groomsmen also wore KC vests and bowties. The bridesmaids wore red knee-length gowns while the flower girl was dressed in a red and white dress.
The cake also tied into the red and white football theme with a cake decorated with glitter frosting and red crystal ribbons around each tier. The cake topper was a bride and groom with their team’s logo on helmets resting next to them. Each tier of the cake was a different flavor from red velvet to carrot to white cake. Lemon cupcakes with red and white frosting surrounded the cake.
Floral arrangements had decorative Kansas City and Arizona Cardinal helmets set into yellow and red roses, all held in a football vase. A dated NFL football commemorated the couple’s wedding day.
During the reception, the couple’s first dance was to A Thousand Years by Christina Perry where the newlyweds kept their guests entertained with a few humorous dance moves. Favors were M&Ms, candy hearts and chocolate roses.
