Todd and Nicole first met at a group party and spent the night talking to each other. During their first date they watched The Princess Bride in June of 2006. Their relationship endured three years of long distance dating when Nicole moved to Pittsburgh. Todd proposed in Sedona, Arizona September 2012. They were married November 24, 2013.
For the ceremony Nicole wore her hair pulled back with crystals in her hair and a long veil. The wedding gown had beaded detailing on the dress with a ruffled skirt. The bride’s bouquet included burgundy, purple and white roses and orchids. The bridesmaids wore burgundy dresses with black shawls and had full red and purple bouquets of flowers. The mother of the bride made all the floral arrangements, which included a floral centerpiece of red roses that spanned the altar. The white runner leading to the altar was lined with red flower petals. Todd wore a black tuxedo with white shirt, tie and vest. The groomsmen wore black tuxedos with burgundy ties and vests.
In a traditional move the couple did not see each other prior to the ceremony, so Nicole’s grand entrance was special to both of them. A wine ceremony was included in which the couple sealed a letter to the other in a box with two glasses and a bottle of wine to open on their first wedding anniversary.
At the reception, guests were invited to find the antique key that would lead them to their table for the night. On the tables were tall standing flowers with red roses lit by votive candles.
The wedding cake was three-tiers with multicolored sugar flowers cascading down the front of the cake and on top.
The couple’s first dance was to Embrace by Gravity. After the dance, the best man offered a toast in which he acknowledged that Nicole was the perfect girl for Todd. The maid of honor was overcome with emotion during her speech and was barely able to finish.
Congratulations Nicole and Todd. May the love and support you offer each continue to grow and flourish throughout your years together. We wish you the best.
