Rachel and Nick, who have known each other since middle school and maintained a long-distance relationship in college, will never be apart again; they were married on October 12, 2019.
Rachel dazzled in a classic ballgown with full-length lace illusion sleeves, an illusion neckline, and a full tulle skirt. She accessorized with small drop earrings, a crystal hair band, and a hip-length veil. Her bouquet was stuffed with a variety of fall-colored flowers. Her nine bridesmaids wore individual dresses in shades of blush, coral, red, and burgundy, and carried modified versions of the bride’s bouquet.
Nick looked sharp in a classic black tuxedo with a white shirt, black bow tie, and white pocket square. His eight groomsmen wore black suits with white shirts and black ties.
In the ceremony, the officiant, a friend of the groom’s said that marriage makes the world smaller and more manageable, and talked about the couple’s life goals. Rachel and Nick read personal vows to each other; Rachel promised to cherish and choose Nick for the rest of their lives, while Nick spoke about the things he loves about Rachel and the things he’s looking forward to, like raising a family and growing old together. The couple performed a glass-breaking ceremony.
Inside at the reception, an “In Loving Memory” table honored Rachel’s late mother with photographs of her. Guests enjoyed a meal of spinach salad, grilled boneless chicken breast filled with cheese, herb-crusted pork loin with wild rice, and angel hair garlic pasta.
During the speeches, the bride’s father said that Rachel and Nick are a perfect match. The bride’s sisters spoke about Rachel’s talent and organization skills, and said that their mother would be so proud of all of them. The officiant spoke about his friendship with the groom. Nick and Rachel thanked all their guests for coming.
Nick and Rachel’s first dance as man and wife was to “Book of Love” by Magnetic Fields. Rachel and her father danced to “Landslide” by Fleetwood Mac. Nick and his mother danced to “Forever Young” by Bob Dylan. Other wedding fun included an anniversary dance to “All the Things You Are” by Ella Fitzgerald, and a bouquet and a garter toss.
The four-tier white wedding cake was decorated with an assortment of fresh fruit along each layer.
Congratulations and best wishes to the newlyweds!
