Rachelle & Mitch ~ May 10, 2013

On May 10, 2013, Villa Siena’s very own Rachelle & Mitch married at Villa Siena. The couple discovered the perfect recipe for love as they have been together from middle school on and shared it with their closest friends and family on their wedding day!

The recipe calls for:

1 pinch humor
2 spoonfuls of joy
1 lb of compatibility
3 tablespoons of trust
1 cup respect
½  lb communication
1 zest of tenderness
¾ cup patience
4 oz friendship
Sprinkle with kindness

For the ceremony and reception Rachelle chose a form-fitting ivory strapless gown with lace and crystal detailing down to the hips, flowing into a mermaid style bottom with a cathedral length train. A diamond necklace and teardrop earrings complimented the look. For the traditional ‘something blue’ of her ensemble, Rachelle chose blue satin shoes with crystals on the heels. A cathedral-length veil embellished with crystals hung from under the bride’s up-do and completing her glowing look.

As Rachelle got ready, her bridesmaids surrounded her with laughter and support in royal blue knee-length dresses.

In the men’s dressing room, Mitch and his groomsmen celebrated with a shot before the ceremony started to wish the groom luck in his marriage. Mitch stood out wearing a black tuxedo with white shirt, royal blue vest and tie while his groomsmen wore black tuxedos with black shirts, blue vests and ties. When the couple joined for the ceremony, they both lit up as it had been a very long anticipated union.

Guests were welcome to sit on either side of the aisle which was lined with white rose petals and clusters of mercury glass votive candles. During the emotional wedding a sand ceremony was performed and the couple told the story of how they met. Additionally, the bride and groom presented their mothers with white roses during the ceremony as a thank you for their love and support.

Afterwards, a rockin’ reception was held in the Firenze Ballroom where the couple chose blue up-lighting to set the mood for the evening. Crab cakes, Rachelle’s favorite, were served during cocktail hour along with miniature hamburger sliders.

A delightful and whimsical lemonade bar was available for guests seeking refreshments complete with an assortment of flavors and fun straws. And for a little fun, guests enjoyed a photo booth with a selection props.

The couple’s first dance as husband and wife was to Christina Perri’s A Thousand Years, which seemed appropriate for this long-time couple.

For dessert, an impressive four-tiered cake adorned with alternating layers of sugar crystals, ribbons and dazzling brooches topped with a Swarovski crystal monogram ‘M’ wowed guests . To end the evening, the couple enjoyed a signature sparkler farewell before sneaking one last kiss and departing as husband & wife.

Congratulations Rachelle and Mitch! May your love last more than a thousand years, may it last an eternity!
