November 10, 2013 saw Rene and Brian married at Villa Siena. The couple met in high school and that early love of youth lasted. The wedding program was written on glass panes in an antique window frame. Flowers were tied to the end of the aisles of chairs with a white runner sprinkled with white rose petals leading to the altar.
For the ceremony Rene wore a strapless wedding gown with clean lines and a flowing train. The dress was lace with beading on the bodice. Underneath the dress was a pair of grey shoes with sparkly detailing. A diamond necklace and earrings brought a twinkle to the ensemble. A veil was worn with beaded edging. Her bouquet combined pink, yellow and white flowers including poppies. Bridesmaids wore blue strapless dresses that came above the knee with nude shoes.
Brian chose a grey tuxedo with grey vest and tie and a rose in his lapel. The groomsmen wore grey tuxedos with blue ties.
Their friend performed the wedding ceremony and kept it short and sweet. At the guest sign-in table, framed pictures of the couple chronicled their relationship.
Vases of flowers brought color to each table. The wedding cake was three tiers of vanilla cake with two layers decorated with a harlequin design and the middle layer with a lace design. The topper was a couple standing under a gazebo holding flowers.
For the first dance the couple did a waltz to instrumental music followed by Rene dancing with her dad to What a Wonderful World and Brian dancing with his mother to I Hope You Dance. As part of the games, the bride and groom had to eat an apple held on a string without using their hands.
Favors were small jars of homemade jam.
As guests held a signature sparkler farewell, Brian carried his bride out to their car. Congratulations Rene and Brian. May the love that began in high school only continue to grow throughout your lives together. We wish you the best.
