October 20, 2012 was a bright sunny day that was perfect for Rochelle and Michael’s outdoor ceremony. Our 9,694 square foot courtyard is the perfect private setting for weddings. With guests seated facing our freestanding fireplace, the couple chose a beautiful white floral arrangement finished on either side by pillar candles as a backdrop for the exchanging of vows. The couple met during their sophomore year of high school yet they still had the same glow of first love during their ceremony.
As guests arrived, they were encouraged to sign a photo mat that would later be framed with a picture of the bride and groom in it. As Michael stood at the altar in a black tuxedo with blue vest, blue tie and a cream colored rose in his lapel he looked perfectly at ease. The bridesmaids led the way for the bride in mocha colored satin dresses. When he saw his bride, Michael’s face lit up. Rochelle chose a strapless gown with lace detailing across the bodice. The skirt flowed out behind the bride, elegantly. Instead of a veil, she chose a headband with detailing that complimented her pearl necklace. Her hair flowed down in curls while her face shone all day. The bouquet had a single blue flower in the middle, surrounded by cream roses and a few smaller black flowers for contrast.
During the ceremony, the officiant spoke of the challenges that can be encountered during a marriage and encouraged the couple to face problems with love, forgiveness, humility and patience. That advice can be applied to every facet of a person’s life, not just marriage.
The photographer had a little fun with the couple after the ceremony, getting the groom to blush as two bridesmaids bent and kissed him on either cheek. Then it was the bride’s turn to be lifted up by the groomsmen, which she did with the grace of a ballerina. Even her ankles were crossed. This was a beautiful day for a beautiful wedding ceremony. Congratulations Rochelle & Michael. We wish you the best.
