Sara and Jason were married at Villa Siena November 27, 2015. The couple included their children in the ceremony, inviting them up for the candle lighting ceremony where each child had their own gold candle. During the ceremony the maid of honor sang Feels Like Home. As part of the service, the officiant spoke of the ‘art of marriage’ and how a good marriage must be created. The couple exchanged their own vows.
For this special occasion, Sara chose an elegant vintage 1920’s style gown with a lace chevron design, buttons down the back and a flowing train. Her hair was worn in a partial up-do with a veil flowing down her back and a gold filigree bangle on her wrist. Her bridal bouquet was filled with roses, dahlias, calla lilies and faux cranberries. A cross hung from the bouquet. Sara’s bridesmaids wore different styles of navy blue dresses. The groom chose a navy blue tuxedo with white vest and blue tie to wear when he married his bride. A red rose brightened his lapel. His groomsmen were dressed to match, but each had a blue tie with a different pattern on it.
During speeches the maid of honor sang and offered up some funny inspirational quotes. Her other sister gave a speech as did the groom’s brother and best man.
The bride’s sister sang Adele’s Make You Feel My Love for the newlywed’s first dance. After the first dance the cake was cut instead of the traditional cutting at the end of the night. The wedding cake was three tiers. The top layer glittered from the smooth gold fondant, which was balanced out by the navy fondant on the bottom tier. The middle layer had a navy base with a gold pattern. Fresh maroon and orange flowers decorated the cake.
Favors were gold glitter bottle openers, glass wine corks and Best Day Ever cozies. Congratulations Sara and Jason. May your love sparkle like stars in the sky. We wish you the best.
