Sarah and Ivan met at a bonfire in high school, and on November 28, 2020, their love became an eternal flame.
Sarah looked radiant in a sleeveless ball gown with spaghetti straps, a V neckline, a V back, and a full skirt with a train. Her accessories included a diamond necklace, drop earrings, and a full-length veil trimmed in lace. Her bouquet was composed of flowers in shades of yellow, burgundy, and pink with botanical accents. Her six bridesmaids wore coordinating full-length wine-colored dresses. They carried smaller versions of the bride’s bouquet.
Ivan got married in a blue suit with a gray vest, white shirt, paisley tie, burgundy pocket square, and mini bouquet boutonniere. His six groomsmen wore blue suits with white shirts, burgundy ties, burgundy pocket squares, and mini bouquet boutonnieres.
A string quartet performed during the short outdoor ceremony.
Later, guests enjoyed a meal of Tuscan chicken, beef tenderloin, twice-baked potatoes, green beans, and Italian salad. Sarah’s father gave a blessing before the meal. There were two signature drinks: a citrus margarita in honor of Sarah, and beer in a can in honor of Ivan. The wedding favors were drink koozies.
In the speeches, the matron of honor, the bride’s sister, advised the couple to read their vows to each other every year on their anniversary.
Sarah and Ivan’s first dance was to “Don’t Stop Believin’” by Journey. Sarah and her father danced to “Isn’t She Lovely?” by Stevie Wonder. Ivan and his mother danced to “I Can’t Help Falling in Love With You” by Julio Iglesias. Other wedding fun included a time for traditional Serbian music and dancing, the shoe game, a garter toss, and a bouquet toss.
The three-tier white wedding cake was done with a brushed frosting design. It was decorated with a cascade of flowers to match the colors of the bride’s bouquet, and was topped with a “Mr. & Mrs.” ornament.
Congratulations to this beautiful couple!
