Sarah and Travis met through mutual friends, and got engaged on the beach when Travis proposed with a message in a bottle. They were married on January 15, 2017.
Sarah wore a strapless A-line gown from David’s Bridal with lace and sequin embellishments and a beaded belt, with a lace-edged veil. Her bouquet included flowers in hues of champagne and gold. Her six bridesmaids wore strapless, blush-colored dresses and carried bouquets of blush-colored roses.
Travis and his eight groomsmen sported dark suits with a champagne and white checked ties; each man also wore a white rose boutonniere.
The bride and groom prayed with their guests and took communion during the ceremony, and braided together three cords in honor of a Bible verse. A bagpiper provided the music.
At the reception, guests enjoyed chicken and short ribs with salad, potato wedges, and steamed vegetables. The favors were chocolate-covered almonds.
Travis and Sarah danced their first dance to “Die a Happy Man” by Thomas Rhett. During the speeches, the best man, Travis’s younger brother, told a story about when they were children and Travis helped him when he was hurt. The maid of honor, a friend of Sarah’s from middle school, joked about how hard Travis had to work to win Sarah’s heart.
The wedding cake was white, with a light pink flower detail on the bottom layer and a gold “B” on the top layer. Travis’s groom’s cake was a one-layer creation with a plaid border; the top of the cake was emblazoned with the Brown family tartan and crest, with the words “Floreat Majestas” (Let majesty flourish).
We hope that Travis and Sarah enjoy every moment of their beautiful new life together.
