High school sweethearts Savannah and Griffin spent some of their dating years in a long-distance relationship, but now they’ll never have to be apart: The couple were married on January 16, 2021.
Savannah looked radiant in an off-the-shoulder fit-and-flare gown with a sweetheart neckline, buttons down the back, and a train skirt. She accessorized with a hip-length veil, a pendant necklace, and drop earrings. Her bouquet was crafted with white and red roses, thistles, and botanical accents. Her four bridesmaids wore coordinating full-length burgundy dresses. They carried smaller versions of the bride’s bouquet.
Griffin got married in a blue suit with a white shirt, burgundy tie, burgundy pocket square, and mini bouquet boutonniere. His eight groomsmen wore navy blue suits, white shirts, burgundy ties, burgundy pocket squares, and mini bouquet boutonnieres.
Griffin’s father performed the ceremony. There was a reading about marriage by the bride’s grandmother, and a reading from the Bible. The couple lit a unity candle to signify the joining of their lives. Griffin’s dad offered him a breath mint before he kissed his new bride.
Guests wrote down advice for the couple and put their fingerprints on a tree keepsake, then sat down to a plated meal of spring mix salad with baby spinach and poppy seed vinaigrette, herb-roasted red potatoes, assorted grilled vegetables, sauteed chicken with mushroom Marsala sauce, and flatiron steak with chimichurri sauce. The wedding favors were drink koozies.
Savannah’s mother and father gave toasts, as did Griffin’s best man, his brother.
The bride and groom’s first dance was to “Better Today” by Coffey Anderson. Savannah and her father danced to “It Won’t Be Like This for Long” by Darius Rucker. Griffin and his mother danced to “For Once in My Life” by Stevie Wonder. There was also an anniversary dance.
The three-tier white wedding cake was done in a brushed frosting design. It was adorned with pink and red roses and topped with a silhouette ornament of a bride and groom under a tree.
Griffin and Savannah left their wedding under the signature sparkler send-off.
We wish them all the best in their beautiful new life together!
