Sophie and Ben were married January 11, 2017.
Sophie wore a ballgown with a full tulle bottom and a corset top with ribbons and ruffles. She added a full veil, and silk arm sleeves for the traditional ceremony. Her two bridesmaids wore strapless gowns with elaborate beadwork. The bridal party carried white bouquets.
Ben wore a traditional tuxedo with a black shirt and white bow tie. His two groomsmen wore tuxedos with black shirts, white vests, and white bow ties. Each man wore a white rose boutonniere.
Sophie and Ben were baptized together the night before, and during the ceremony, the officiant gave Communion to the couple. They lit a unity candle to signify their new life as husband and wife.
Inside the reception, guests started their meal with a mixed green salad with raspberry vinaigrette dressing, then moved on to beef Wellington or chicken marsala with potatoes and steamed vegetables.
During the toasts, both of Ben’s best men spoke–one expressed hopes that Sophie and Ben have a long a beautiful life together, while the other shared how honored he was to be a part of the wedding, and wished the couple the best. Sophie’s matron of honor said how well the newlyweds go together.
Ben and Sophie danced their first dance together as man and wife to “Have I Told You Lately,” performed by Rod Stewart.
The wedding cake was actually a five-tiered cupcake tower topped by a white vintage decoration Sophie and her mother found at an antique sale.
As Sophie and Ben left the wedding, their guests sent them off with a bubble exit.
We wish Sophie and Ben a marriage full of joy and happiness.
