Stephanie & Jason ~ June 9, 2012

Stephanie and Jason joined us June 9, 2012 for their wedding ceremony and reception. The couple met in 9th grade and dated for a long time. While they are both grown up now, the glow of young love flushed their faces during this special day. Stephanie’s smile was contagious as she readied for the big day. She wore a strapless ivory gown with beaded detailing across the bust while the layers of the dress flowed from one pattern into another, creating a soft, flowing effect. Her lace shoes with bows and crystals were just one of a series of elegant accessories. On the bottom of one shoe was an ‘I’ and the other a “Do.” Stephanie accessorized her gown with antique diamond drop earrings and a diamond bracelet. On Stephanie’s bouquet was a miniature framed image of her father. Her bouquet was an assortment of purple, yellow and white flowers. The bridesmaids wore purple above-the-knee dresses with a ruffle detail, black heels and bouquets of white flowers with green leaf accents. The groom was handsome in a black tuxedo with white shirt and grey and white striped tie, while the groomsmen wore black tuxedos with black ties and black vests. The photographer reflected the sense of humor of the couple by having the groomsmen and groom pose holding the bride and bridesmaid’s bouquets while keeping straight faces. This was one for the picture frames. After the couple made their grand entrance, they twirled their first dance to Frank Sinatra’s The Way You Look Tonight. Stephanie danced a mother/daughter dance, while Jason danced with his mother. Then Jason’s parents took to the dance floor for an anniversary celebration dance. The couple’s lively energy clearly came from their parents. The importance of family was evident at the reception table where pictures of the couple’s parents and grandparents on their wedding days were framed. The photographer also captured this by having the couple pose with framed pictures of their parents on the their wedding days held in front of the couple’s faces. To liven up the night and to bring a few laughs as well as to test how much the couple knew about one another, they played the Shoe Game. This is a game where the couple sits in chairs, back to back. Each gets one shoe belonging to the bride and one to the groom. In this case they had a white flip-flop to represent the bride and a striped one to represent the groom. Guests were invited to ask questions while the couple, without being able to look at the other had to hold up a shoe to represent the answer. Some popular questions include ‘who’s the biggest flirt?’ and ‘who wears the pants in the family?’ Laughter was had all around. Jason’s father continued the laughter when he toasted the couple, saying “I hope today is the unhappiest day of the rest of your lives.”  The couple used an engraved cake cutter and knife, reading ‘Mr. & Mrs…today, tomorrow and always, to cut the cake that has a floral doily pattern, with fresh pink roses and crystal embellishments. Stephanie and Jason shared a few romantic kisses before the night was over and the unhappiest day of the rest of their lives passed. Congratulations, Stephanie and Jason. Thank you for sharing your love with us.
