May 18, 2013 marked the day Susie said ‘I do’ to James. The couple’s first date was at a sushi restaurant where they got lost in conversation and didn’t realize the time until the restaurant closed.
Susie was an elegant bride in a strapless dress with rouching that ended in an asymmetrical low-waist, tucking into layers of silk. On the bottom of her shoes in blue crystals was written ‘I Do.’ Her curly hair was worn down with a veil for the ceremony. The bridal bouquet was an assortment of various shades of purple and white flowers. Susie’s bridesmaids wore violet strapless knee-length dresses.
James was a perfect match for his bride in a black tuxedo with white striped tie and vest. The groomsmen had purple vests and ties. Both Susie’s mother and father walked her down the aisle. During the wedding ceremony a harpist played. As part of the ceremony, the couple lit a unity candle.
During the cocktail hour, live music played. Guests were greeted by a photograph of the wedded couple on a stand. Hunter Hayes’ Wanted played for the first dance followed by a combined father/daughter, mother/son dance to The Way You Look Tonight.
Guests were entertained with a photo booth, gelato station and a gourmet coffee bar. Hershey’s kisses with the couple’s name on the bottom were another sweet treat, as were the favors of cookies shaped like a wedding cake.
The toasts were as moving as the wedding ceremony, with the sister of the bride and maid of honor proclaiming, “I couldn’t pick out another better best friend than James for Susie.” The father of the bride lightened the mood by quipping “James is lucky because we thought we were having a boy.” James’ father brought tenderness back to the moment by saying “I have always wanted a girl and today is the day we get to have a daughter in the family.”
Congratulations Susie and James. May your lives together be filled with timeless moments.
