They had been friends since elementary school, but on September 30, 2020, Christopher and Takara became man and wife.
Takara dazzled in an off-the-shoulder ball gown with a sweetheart neckline, embroidered bodice, and full layered skirt. Her accessories included a pearl pendant necklace and a calla lily in her hair. Her cascade-style bouquet featured calla lilies, dahlias, and snapdragons, plus greenery accents. Her four bridesmaids wore coordinating full-length pale green satin dresses in a variety of silhouettes. They carried small arrangements of white and purple flowers.
Christopher got married in a black suit with a black vest, white shirt, purple tie, and mini bouquet boutonniere. His four groomsmen wore black suits with white shirts, purple ties, calla lily boutonnieres, and pale green pocket squares.
The outdoor ceremony began with a prayer for those who were not able to be at the wedding. The officiant gave marriage advice to the couple.
Guests were invited to sign a photo frame as a keepsake for the couple before sitting down to a meal of classic Caesar salad, Napa Valley salad with candied pecans and goat cheese, creamy marinara pasta with sun-dried tomatoes, creamy pesto pasta, lemon chicken, and spinach Gorgonzola chicken. The wedding favors were small pots with wafer cookies.
The first dance was to “99 Years” by Josh Groban with Jennifer Nettles. Other wedding activities included a Zoom call with loved ones who weren’t able to attend the event, an anniversary dance, and a Japanese sake ritual for good fortune.
The three-tier wedding cake had a bottom layer done in a green paint with touches of gold, and white middle and top layer. It was topped with an ornament that read, “After all this time, always,” and decorated with a gold leaf piece on the front.
Congratulations to this wonderful couple!
