Chris received a photo of Taylor while in boot camp, which got them talking, and ultimately married on Saturday, May 21, 2016.
Taylor Ann wore a sweetheart-style wedding gown with a bejeweled silver belt and train. She held a bouquet of soft pink and white roses, and some greenery, tied with a white ribbon. Her six bridesmaids held the same bouquet, and modeled pink, semi sweetheart sheath gowns.
Chris donned charcoal gray, three-piece suit with a dove gray dress shirt and necktie. His groomsmen wore two-piece, charcoal gray suits with dove gray dress shirts and neckties, and all lapels were pinned with a white rose.
Taylor and Chris’ outdoor ceremony was held at the end of a plush white carpet. Their love was described as like a movie, or picture perfect. The officiant said, “The vows are not only between Taylor and Chris, but God himself.”
A plated dinner started with Caesar salad, followed by chicken and steak with vegetables and potatoes. The three-tiered, chocolate and vanilla wedding cake came in white fondant made to look like petals, complete with three gumpaste pink roses, and a “Mr. & Mrs.” cake topper. A sign near the bar read, “Oh snap! If you Instagram, please share the love!” with the recommended hashtag: #cheers2theblanchards.
During toasts, Taylor’s father spoke about her relationship with Chris and one of Taylor’s teachers, who was also a guest, and gave Chris some advice. A bridesmaid, Nicole, who has known Taylor since sixth grade, also spoke. Matt and Patrick, Taylor’s older brothers, also had some kind words to say.
The Father/Daughter Dance was to “My Little Girl” by Tim McGraw, and the Mother/Son Dance was to “What a Wonderful World.”
Guests were treated to chocolates with the note: “Hugs and kisses from the new Mrs. and Mr.” with pink and gold wrapping. The reception also featured a memorial table for loved ones who have passed, or who could not attend.
Taylor and Chris left under the signature sparkler farewell, and we wish them all the best on their new journey together!
