Terra & Habib ~ April 6, 2013

bride and groom

When people marry, two worlds become one. When the couple comes from different countries, two cultures become one. Traditions are shared and people grow. This was the case with Terra and Habib who met at a party in college. Their wedding at Villa Siena April 6, 2013 brought together different cultures with a single language; love.

Glasses

Before the ceremony, Terra and her bridesmaids celebrated a champagne toast with personalized champagne glasses. Each glass had a painting of a bridesmaid with corresponding hair color while the bride’s glass had a bride painted on it.

As Terra dressed for the ceremony in a strapless gown that fitted to below the hips then flared out in ruffled layers, her bridesmaids were there next to her in deep violet strapless floor length gowns. Terra’s finishing touches included a diamond bracelet and a bouquet of roses, daisies, snapdragons and star lilies in bright colors.

groom with groomsmen

Habib prepared for the wedding with his best man, who he had known since kindergarten when he lived in Kuwait, and his groomsmen. The groom wore a black tuxedo with silver tie and vest and an orchid pinned to his lapel.

recessional

During the ceremony the officiant spoke of the couple’s similarities and differences and advised them to be open with each other and grow together. In their personalized their vows, Habib thanked Terra for being his family and for always being there for him as his family is so far away. Terra spoke about her love for Habib growing each year and let him know he is the best thing that has ever happened to her.

Map

In cocktail hour, there was a framed map of the countries their love had taken them, literally around the world, with hearts marking the birthplace of the bride and groom.

first dance

The first dance was a choreographed waltz to Christina Perri’s A Thousand Years, which led into a tango.

cake

A photo booth was set up for guests to take pictures of themselves. Favors were Baklava. The wedding cake was four tiers with the initials T&H in a heart. Decorative flowers and a vine ran along the cake, which was alternating tiers of chocolate cake with peanut butter cream filling and white almond cake with almond cream cheese filling. The cake was frosted with butter cream frosting.

Congratulations Terra & Habib. May you continue to learn from one another and love one another more and more each year.
