Less than two years after a first date that included Italian food, bowling, and a Transformers movie, Tonya and Ron were married on January 8, 2017.
Tonya wore an elegant lace gown designed by Suzanne’s Bridal with an illusion neckline, beading, and a buttoned-up back. Her bouquet featured roses and peonies in shades of white and blush, along with several varieties of botanical accents. Ron sported a tradition tuxedo with a bow tie and a blush-colored rose boutonniere.
During the ceremony, which was decorated with rose petals and pale pink candleholders, the officiant reminded the bride and groom of the importance of caring for each other.
Inside at the reception, guests enjoyed a meal of salad, chicken, ravioli, and mashed potatoes. The couple also provided a table with several different flavors of doughnuts arranged on tiered stands.
Tonya’s best friend spoke, although she kept her remarks “short and sweet, like me,” she joked. Ron’s sister said that she had never seen Ron happier than he is with his new bride.
Ron and Tonya sang to each other as they danced their first dance to “We Danced” by Brad Paisley. Then, Tonya and her father, Jim, danced to “My Wish” by Rascal Flatts. Ron and his mother, Jean, shared a dance as well, then all the couples danced to “Faithfully” by Journey.
The wedding cake was a three-tier affair in ivory fondant with white detailing, sugar flowers, champagne-colored ribbon and a traditional bride and groom topper.
We wish Tonya and Ron a long and happy life together!
