Wendy & Josh ~ March 30, 2013

The end of March brings everything to life at Villa Siena. March 30, 2013 also began the new life of Wendy and Josh as husband and wife. The couple met while working at Wells Fargo. Work is still one of the most common places to find love.

While the bride got ready for the ceremony, her mother was by her side helping her. Wendy looked the blushing bride in a wedding gown with a single shoulder strap and rouching throughout. Her hair was pulled back with just a few curls hanging down. A veil with beaded detailing and scalloped edging added an ethereal touch. Simple and elegant accessories of a diamond bracelet and earrings finished the ensemble. The bride’s bouquet consisted of white roses while the bridesmaids carried bouquets of calla lilies. In spring fashion the bridesmaids wore green dresses while the flower girls wore green dresses with black bows. The maid of honor wore a bright pink dress.

As the ceremony began, the groom awaited his bride in a tuxedo with black bow tie and a white rose in his lapel. The groomsmen wore black tuxedos with black bowties but had white calla lilies in their lapels. The officiant offered the advice that “Love is a promise not a feeling,” and read verses from the bible that talked about the simplicity of love.

The couple’s first dance was choreographed to Your Song by Ellie Goulding followed by the classical song El Danubio Azul. Then Josh and his mother danced to Beautiful Boy by Celine Dion.

After the ceremony came “crazy hour” where bridesmaids gave guests props to encourage them to dance.

The couple’s sense of humor was clearly a trait of the bride’s family. Wendy’s little sister and maid of honor offered Josh some advice during her toast that included ‘When Wendy says nothing’s wrong, prepare for the worst. Learn Spanish with caution because sometime’s you’re better off not knowing,’ and finished with ‘every outfit really does need it’s own pair of shoes.’ Before she ended her toast, she made sure her sister knew how special she was by talking about how Wendy inspired her and how much she loves her sister.

Sweets included a four-tiered cake with alternating layers of red ribbon with a brooch and green decorative design and green ribbon as well as chocolate favors.

The couple enjoyed a traditional Villa Siena sparkler farewell. Congratulations Wendy and Josh. May your love and humor create a life of happiness and fulfillment.
