Wendy and Patrick married January 2nd, 2016. The couple consecrated their vows of love with communion. On the mantle of the altar, a candle burned for Patrick’s father who had passed away. As part of the ceremony, the officiant noted that Wendy is the wind and Patrick the windbreaker in their relationship.
The guest reception table was filled with framed pictures of the couple as well as signs reading Love is Patient and The best is yet to come.
For the ceremony, Wendy wore a gown from Wedding Belles Bridal. The dress had a fitted silhouette with a mermaid flair and antique lace chevron pattern. She carried a bouquet of blush roses, star flowers and berries. Her bridesmaid’s navy knee-length dresses came from JJ’s House. Patrick was dressed in a grey pinstriped suit with a white shirt and silver tie. He wore a calla lily in his lapel. His groomsmen wore solid grey suits with blue vests and ties and a white shirt. Wendy changed outfits for the reception into a knee-length dress. Her shoulders were wrapped in a shawl that belonged to her great grandmother and that her mother wore at her wedding.
As guests found their seat assignments for the reception, there was a sign encouraging This is your seat but your place is on the dance floor.’
The couple’s first dance was choreographed to To Make You Feel My Love by Kris Allen followed by the father & daughter dance to Daddy by Abby Anderson and finally the mother & son dance to Times of Your Life by Paul Anka.
The wedding cake was three tiers with blue ribbon and a diamond brooch. Pearl fondant beads cascaded down the top tier while a monogrammed crystal M sat atop the cake. The middle tier shone with a sugar finish while the bottom tier was whimsical with grey and white pearl beads. Favors were ‘For Richer or Poorer’ pennies with a lottery ticket inside.
Congratulations Wendy & Patrick. May every day of your lives together be the best day you’ve ever had. We wish you the best.
