Yukari and Ray were married at Villa Siena on January 7th, 2011. Highlighting their Chinese heritage, Yukari and Ray chose a red and gold color scheme, while incorporating unique handmade details. As guests entered the Villa they were asked to sign a scroll instead of a regular guest book. Adding a splash of American culture, Yukari selected Colbie Caillat’s “Bubbly” to accompany her walk down the aisle. After Ray kissed his bride, the bridal party recessional was set to “Hey Soul Sister”. For the reception, Yukari’s handmade origami flowers were set atop our silver candelabras for the centerpieces and were surrounded by red and gold paper cranes. At each place setting, suests were provided with chopsticks and an Asian inspired candle. Instead of a traditional wedding cake, guests were treated with selections from an enticing dessert bar including a chocolate fountain and delicious sorbet cart. Keeping with the traditional Chinese theme, a Lion Dance was performed as an expression of joy and happiness that is said to bring the newlyweds good luck in their marriage while warding off evil. It was such a surprise and joy for guests to see this unique and beautiful performance. Congratulations Yukari & Ray!
